STAFF at Bernina Southland are hosting a Mid-Winter Christmas Open Day next Saturday, July 21, from 11am to 3pm, which will include discounts, spot prizes, mini sewing projects, drinks and nibbles.
“We are hoping [the open day] will inspire young mothers to come and visit us,” staff member Pauline Stenning said.
“We are passionate about our craft. We want to share our wealth of knowledge in dressmaking, knitting, craft, embroidery [and more].”
Bernina Southland opened at 228 Yarrow St about 10 weeks ago.
As well as selling sewing and craft supplies, staff also hold classes in patchwork, card-making, machine and hand embroidery, quilting and sewing in a studio adjacent to the shop.
Representatives from Bernina will be in store on July 30 and 31 conducting demonstrations.
