Invercargill’s Lisa-Maree Fleck has been appointed manager of the ILT Foundation.
Starting on January 22, Fleck replaces Jackie Flutey, who will lead the Community Trust of Southland as its general manager from February.
Managing editor of the Southland Express for the past 10 and a half years, Fleck is eager to embrace the next chapter in her career.
“This is a new challenge for me and one I’m very excited about. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with an organisation I respect for the positive contribution it makes in our community,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to working within our community alongside the vast array of groups which benefit from ILT Foundation funding.”
A born and bred Southlander, Fleck has developed a comprehensive skillset working in various roles in the media, marketing, events, hospitality and insurance industries.
“While I’ve always called Southland home, I’ve been lucky enough to travel and that really gives you an appreciation for what we do have right here on our own doorstep,” she said.
“The vision of the ILT itself to make Invercargill the best place to live, work and play really resonates with me and I want to be part of continuing to make that happen for our city.”
ILT Foundation president Alan Dennis said he had every confidence Fleck would excel.
“She comes into this with a variety of skills and knowledge which I believe will really complement the role and it will be great to see what she can accomplish,” he said.
He also paid tribute to Flutey’s dedication over the past two and a half years.
“Jackie has worked tirelessly to achieve the success she has during her time with us and undoubtedly been a real asset. The Community Trust’s gain is absolutely our loss but I know Jackie’s move will further strengthen the strong working relationship we already have with them going forward,” he said.
Flutey reflected fondly on her time with the ILT Foundation.
“I welcome Lisa-Maree to the ILT Foundation team and wish her every success. I know I have very much enjoyed it. The people are wonderful and the role is a varied and enjoyable one,” she said.
“I have particularly enjoyed the community focus of the work done by the ILT Foundation and I look forward, in my new role with the Community Trust of Southland, to the new opportunities this will bring and to working with the ILT to continue to support the Southland community through collaborative funding.”Running sneakersNike Trainers & Shoes for Men, Women & Kids
