THIS year’s International Women’s Day campaign, Press for Progress, officially starts today, March 8, and will continue throughout the year.

Diversity consultants and directors of the Awareness Project Kate Wilkinson and Anna Kirkwood are asking Southland business groups to join them in pressing for progress by sending them photos similar to the one above.

Ms Wilkinson said the photos would be posted on their Facebook page in the coming weeks to promote the campaign’s message and “profile individuals from Southland who are doing great things” to encourage diversity in their community.

“The theme is Press for Progress, as that’s all about celebrating the achievements of women and pressing for women to be in more leadership and managerial roles, especially more Pasifika and Maori women. Both men and women can join in.”
