RECYCLED from brass, the beautiful, spiritual jewellery of Alex and Ani is now available at Country Jewel jewellery boutique in Winton.
Owner Kerry Phillips said there were currently only two outlets in New Zealand selling the range and Country Jewel was the first stockist in the South Island.
She and sales consultant Vanessa Iddles are hosting an official launch in-store on Tuesday, from 1pm-5pm, for everyone to view the latest designer jewellery.
‘‘A rep from Alex and Ani, who is coming down from Auckland, will also be in-store for clients to ask questions about the new range, and there will also be instore prizes and goody bags,’’ Mrs Phillips said.
Mrs Phillips said she was looking to bring a new brand of jewellery to Southland when she came across the range of ecofriendly spiritual jewellery.
‘‘It was quite different in the fact it was recycled, eco-conscious and each piece had a lovely meaning.’’
The customer is the designer, so each piece becomes a unique piece of jewellery by matching symbols, various pieces and colours.
Produced in the United States by an Australian company, each piece is made ‘‘with love and integrity… and infused with positive energy’’, the company’s descriptive information says.
‘‘Each piece has positive intention and each symbol has been thoughtfully crafted and researched for its meaning. Each design is positively intended to empower the wearer and reflect the unique qualities of the individual… Some pieces have sentimental meaning, others are talismans.’’
Mrs Phillips said there was something in the range to suit most budgets. Each individual piece had a special meaning with words on the back and came beautifully boxed and packaged from recycled materials.
‘‘It’s quite a different thing for the jewellery industry.’’
