Venture Southland chief executive Paul Casson has replaced David Wilson as acting chairman of the new Economic Development New Zealand.

Dr Wilson is standing for Parliament during the up-coming national election.

The new organisation, formerly the Economic Development Association of New Zealand, had extended its services to members and broadened its membership structure to allow individuals and organisations either working in, or associated with, economic development.

Mr Casson said Economic Development NZ was rapidly gathering momentum.

“With a growing membership, a committed board and broad support from the private and public sector, prospects for the organisation are looking good.”
