THE Rotary Club of Invercargill Sunrise’s charity art auction was held at the Invercargill Public Art Gallery last week.

“We were delighted to secure a piece of art from [Esplin’s] final auction,” Christine Bulling, of Ivan Bulling Furniture and Interior Designers said.

“Ivan Bulling has been the exclusive retailers in Southland of Clark Esplin’s artwork for many years.”

Esplin donated 53 artworks for the auction, 45 of which were sold online in a silent auction and eight at the live auction.

Charity art auction co-ordinator Dianne Logan said the event raised about $35,000, which would be donated to a variety of Southland charities.

Esplin had chosen Rotary to sell the paintings for charity because he was a previous recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow award from a Christchurch Rotary club, the highest award an individual Rotarian could receive, for his significant contribution to the arts, she said.Running sportsNike News
