AFTER a year with minimal live music, 2021 is off to an exciting start for Invercargill and Gore.

Eleven talented musicians had formed an ensemble, performing works from the Baroque Era, encompassing composers such as Bach and Handel.

Supported by The Baroque Music Community and Education Trust of New Zealand, the ensemble would perform 11 concerts in 16 days throughout New Zealand, including in Invercargill on Wednesday, and in Gore on Thursday.

The musicians would present music by Vivaldi, Handel, Corelli, Charpantier, and premier of Concerto Grosso by emerging Japanese-New Zealand composer Rakuto Kurano, which was commissioned specifically for the concert tour.
