THE Sydney Hotshots return to Invercargill this month, with their new show Secret Fantasies.
The two-hour male cabaret show features chart-topping music of all genres, and both group and solo routines.
Ahead of their performance, troupe member Dael Gethings shared his favourite playlist with the Southland Express:
YMCA, The Village People: “Not only a stripper classic, but it gets the crowd singing.”
Pony, Genuwine: “Obviously a modern-day legend in the business…”
Firestarter, The Prodigy: “Always good for a fireman or angle-grinding routine.”
Bump n Grind, R. Kelly: “Slow, sensual jam that gets the crowd moving.”
James Bond/007, theme song: “If you know, then you already know.”
Gethings said he has been an international stripper for almost seven years.
“I started off in the entertainment business at the age of 16 when I started setting up and promoting club nights, from there I ended up being a topless host at a male strip club,” he said.
“After a while I needed a break, so I came to Australia and found the Sydney Hotshots. They made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
Gethings said he ended up touring Australia with the Hotshots for five months, before travelling to New Zealand.
“I’ve always loved performing and stripping allows me to do that while reaching my target audience.”
