Mereana Hodson (4) and teacher Claire Maley-Shaw, of Fiordland Kindergarten, in front of their winning sculpture at the Polyfest Art Exhibition, last Friday. The pair accepted the Supreme Award on behalf of Fiordland Kindergarten for their Polyfest entry Bats. The Supreme Award recognises the overall winner of the competition and requires the piece to be a conversation-starter, and cause people to think, question or inquire. The Murihiku Maori and Pasifika Trust received about 350 entries for this year’s exhibition, which focused on storytelling through various art forms.
