SIX prominent Southland musicians will be honoured with induction in the Southland Musicians Club Southland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a special show on October 7.
To be held at the Invercargill Workingmen’s Club, this year’s inductees are:
Francis Kerrison, Pat Houlihan, Ross Turner, Terry Bradshaw, Jeff Ross and Nick Tansley.
Kerrison will be joined on stage by his high-profile musical son Jason Kerrison.
Southland Musicians Club president Trevor Daley said: “We’re chuffed to have one of New Zealand’s top entertainers joining us for this special night. Southlanders will be privileged to see him and his dad playing in a band together. It doesn’t happen very often.”
Bands performing on the night will be the Jeff Ross Rock Ensemble, the Frank Kerrison Showband (ex Christchurch), Post No Bills and Contraband.
As well as being inducted and playing keyboards for Post No Bills, popular MC Nick Tansley will again be the host for the 15th edition of the show, which was first held in 2003.
Tickets are $45 and are available at Little Fire Musicworks and the Invercargill Workingmen’s Club.
