ABOUT 100 members of the Southland Women’s Club gathered to celebrate spring last Friday.
The Esk St clubrooms were bedecked with floral displays, as part of the club’s annual Spring Fashion Show.
Arts and crafts chairwoman Christine Whitaker said displays around the room were created “using the talent of our members”.
President Josie Gilroy described the popular event as “something special for our members” to celebrate spring.
The club, which would celebrate its centennial next year, had 160 members, Mrs Gilroy said.
As well as the annual Spring Fashion Parade, other special occasions included lunchtime concerts, dinners and an annual Christmas party.
“New members would be warmly welcomed,” she said.
