THE city’s first St Patrick’s Day Celtic Family Gala will be centred in the Scottish Hall on Esk St on St Patrick’s Day, March 17, starting at 11am and finishing about 3pm.
Event co-organiser Leon Hartnett said full details were yet to be confirmed, but the event would be a family friendly celebration of Irish culture likely to include lots of games and children’s activities, along with Irish and Scottish dancing.
“Hopefully it’ll be the first of many.”
Invercargill City Council city centre co-ordinator Kari Graber said food trucks and various stalls and activities would be set up in the car park beside the Scottish Hall.
Admission is free.
