Rowena Jackson Retirement Village sales adviser Julie Crofts unpacks artwork in preparation for the village’s annual Art Showcase which is open to the public.
Held on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am-4pm, at the village at 40 O’Byrne St North, Mrs Crofts said the exhibition was into its fifth year and had attracted more than 30 artists, including Lynn Grace, Jan Wishart, Rhonda Hall and Heather Rizzi, exhibiting 105 paintings.
Artists were invited to exhibit up to three of their works. Last year, the exhibition was not held due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
However, 25 works were sold the previous year, Mrs Crofts said. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the artworks will go towards Melanoma New Zealand. Free entry. All the artworks will be for sale.
