NITRO Circus is set to explode in the south.

Billed as the world’s greatest action sports event, Nitro Circus than 3 million tickets across 26 countries. And now it’s Invercargill’s turn.

ILT Stadium Southland general manager Nigel Skelt said his team was hugely excited about the opportunity to bring the action-packed, international touring act to Invercargill.

“Nitro Circus Live has given us this rare opportunity to put on a world-class family event that Southlanders have been starved of until now. Almost 6000 tickets have already sold and we now would like to see a crowd of 8000 this weekend. It would be fantastic to see that many Southland people show their support so we can prove Invercargill is a credible destination for more world-class acts to visit.”

Twenty-five athletes make up the international line-up, including the No 1 rider on the planet Josh Sheehan and three Kiwis – BMX rider Jed “The Warrior” Mildon and FMX stars Levi Sherwood and Nick Franklin. Mildon achieved the world’s first quadruple backflip on a BMX, conquering a 75-degree angle ramp to accomplish the feat which has had more than 12 million views on YouTube.

Thirty-two countries around the globe air the Nitro Circus Live TV show, with stars Aaron “Crum” Sauvage and Streetbike Tommy on board for the tour.

    It’s going to go off.
