Rock around the clock


    Simply the best: The particpants in this year’s Rocking With The Stars celebrate after the competition at ILT Stadium Southland on Saturday night. The fundraising event paired 10 celebrity volunteers with rock ‘n’ roll dancers from the Invercargill club. More than $20,000 was raised, which would be divided between the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Southland Hospital and the club, event organiser Melanie Luke said.


    On a roll:  Winner of Rocking With The Stars, radio personality James McRobie shows his winning moves with Invercargill Rock ‘n’ Roll Club member Mya Burns at ILT Stadium Southland on Saturday night.  Best dressed female went to former Environment Southland chairwoman Ali Timms and best dressed male went to McRobie. Radio personality and entertainer Craig Waddell and rock ‘n’ roll club member Karen Birch placed second, while police officer Kelvin Templeton and rock ‘n’ roll club member Hannah Grantham were third.
