OUTSPOKEN and at times controversial, TV personality, author and psychologist Nigel Latta is returning to Invercargill.
Hosted by the Southland Multiple Birth Club (SMBC), Latta’s topic will be The Modern Family Survival Guide.
SMBC conference committee member Michelle Pirie said the proceeds of the show would go towards the club’s national conference which the SMBC is hosting later this year at the Kelvin Hotel.
Mrs Pirie said she expected between 75-100 families from throughout New Zealand to attend the conference, so the funds from the Latta show would be a great help.
‘‘He was very popular last time he was down here four years ago. The Civic Theatre was booked out, so we are anticipating a sell-out crowd again.’’
Well-known for tackling some of life’s difficult topics with his television shows The Politically Incorrect Parenting series and Beyond the Darklands, this would be Latta’s last time presenting alive show in Southland as he had plans to pursue other career options, Mrs Pirie said.
‘‘This time he will be looking at what a modern family has to encounter, such as blended families and drugs and alcohol issues… but all in a humorous way.
‘‘The show will be suitable for anyone who deals with children, whether it be parents, grandparents or professionals,’’ she said.
However, Mrs Pirie said some language in the show might offend.
Í The Modern Family Survival Guide, Nigel Latta, Civic Theatre, Wednesday, August 17, 7.30pm.
