SOME of the world’s best riders have already confirmed their attendance at Farm Jam 2018.
The event, at Otapiri Gorge, near Winton, on Saturday, February 3, combines natural-terrain freestyle motocross (FMX), BMX and mountain bike (MTB) dirt-jumping.
Among the riders already confirmed are New Zealand’s own 2017 X Games and Red Bull X-Fighters FMX champion Levi Sherwood, world BMX champion and defending Farm Jam number one Logan Martin (Australia) and back-to-back defending Farm Jam MTB champion Matt Jones (Britain).
Event co-organiser Brett Frew said Farm Jam continued to attract the best riders from around the world.
“We’ve already been blown away by the level of athletes who’ve already confirmed they’re coming.”
Co-organiser Dan Frew said the free-ride course had been almost completely renovated.
“I’m excited to see what the FMX riders will be able to throw down in the hills now. 2016 was a game-changer for the free-ride areas, and 2018 should see things step up even further,” he said.
The contest, held biennially, attracts thousands of spectators and some of the world’s biggest names in two-wheeled action sports.
