This week’s House of the Week – 11 O’Hara St, Appleby

SHARE

IDEAL for a family, this house of the week provides space, storage and sunlight.

A tidy front garden and lawn sits alongside the path which leads to the front door.

After entering the hallway, plush new carpet sits snug underfoot.

To the right is the lounge, equipped with fireplace, which is well-lit by natural sunlight from the large window.

From the left of the hallway is the master bedroom.

Another large window provides plenty of light, and the in-built wardrobe offers storage.

Heading from the entryway to the adjoining hallway, there are three more bedrooms.

Two are doubles and both have large windows which make them bright and sunny.

The third bedroom is used as an office but is also bright and can easily fit a single bed.

Storage is a big feature of this house, with several built-in storage spaces.

Modern and tidy, the bathroom features a vanity and combined bath and shower, while the toilet is in a separate room.

Again, storage options in the kitchen mean the extensive countertops can be used for cooking spaces.

There is a dishwasher, electric cook-top and wall oven.

Adjoining the kitchen is the well-lit dining room – ideal for entertaining with plenty of room with a heat-pump which will keep the space warm during cooler months.

On the other side of the kitchen is the back door and utility room, which again has storage space and another sink.

Heading out of the back door on to the gravel driveway, there is a powered double garage providing either space for a workshop or covered and secure parking. There is also access from the other side of the garage.

Fenced off, the garden is easily maintained but also provides space for any keen gardeners to give their green thumbs some use in the bordering plant-beds. A garden shed offers space to store dirty and bulky tools.

Around the back of the garage is a wood shed, and beyond that is a private section of the garden, hidden by a hedge.

This section of the garden has garden beds which could be used as a vegetable plot, along with a tunnel house.

The home is near shops, schools and public transport.
