THINGS will be a little different at Riverside Speedway on Saturday night.
X Factor Cars will step aside just for this meeting and the place will be renamed the ILT Foundation Riverside Speedway, marking the fact the ILT Foundation has sponsored the Fireworks Extravaganza for the past 25 years, bringing some of the best fireworks displays in the country to Invercargill.
Local company BDL Productions will once again be responsible for the show. The company has done the past three displays at Riverside and produced an amazing light display for the thousands of Southlanders in attendance.
The club is also doing several activities off track, with a colouring competition for children, and, with it being Halloween, spot prizes for the best dressed Halloween costumes.
On track, action will also be red hot with several grades having entered big fields. Saloons, Production Saloons, Youth Saloons and Streetstocks will contest the first championship of the 2020/21 season with the Best Pairs Championship on the line in each of these grades.
Sprintcars will once again feature, these were popular at the opening event two weeks ago and will thrill the crowd once more. Other grades racing will be Stockcars, Modified Sprints and Six Shooters.
Racing gets under way at 5pm, with gates opening at 2pm. This time may change depending on traffic the traffic becomes a concern on the main road, the gates will open earlier than 2pm.
