THE much-anticipated speedway season kicks into life on Saturday as The Rock Riverside Speedway hosts its opening meeting in what could arguably be the biggest season in the club’s 40-year history.

The club this year will host two New Zealand titles, the first ever New Zealand Production Saloon Championship and the New Zealand Streetstock title, which should see more than 80 entrants converge to contest the event.

Andrew Watson (55) will make his debut in Saloons.

The club also welcomes back the War of the Wings Sprintcars and the farewell stockcar tour for Peter Rees, regular meetings the Southern Saloon Series and Vertex Cup for Super Saloons, as well as the ILT Fireworks Extravaganza – crowd favourites not to be missed.
