The kart race held at the Invercargill Oil Shop Kart Raceway in Otatara on Saturday was part of the Southern Series Day 1/Mainland Series.
KartSport Southland vice-president Glenn Earley said 51 karts took part.
“It was a really good turnout. Go karters came all the way from Nelson. The event was successful and spectators enjoyed it,” he said.
The next race meeting is a club day on Sunday, September 10. Entry is free, with racing starting from 11.30am.
