TERETONGA Park will host a spectacular programme of motor racing on December 4-5 with 10 classes of racing set for the circuit at an event presented by Downer.

Heading the line-up is the big banger OSCA Super Saloons where cars such as Steve Ross’ Jaguar TraNZam, Geoff Washbourne’s Aston Martin, the Corvette of Adam Cullen and the Dodge Viper of Mick Ross are part of an exciting field.

Other classes on the card include Pre-65 Saloons, South Island F1600, Noel McIntyre Drainage Club Saloons, NZ Six Saloons, SS Cup, Pro 7 Saloons, Mini 7 South, the 2K Cup and the exciting, new Historic & Classic Pre-78 class where everything from a Ford Mustang and a Ford Galaxie to Alfa Romeo GTVs, a Ford Capri, Ford Escorts and Anglias, a Triumph 2.5 PI, Vauxhall Viva GT, Sunbeam Stiletto, a Leyland Mini and more will fight it out.

South Island F1600 will see a great field with some older, more experienced names entering the fray, such as Matthew Hamilton, a former Toyota Racing Series race winner and a competitor in Indy Lights in the United States, former Touring Car ace Nigel Arkell and former kart star Simon Hunter taking on up-and-coming stars such as series leader, 14-year-old former kart star Louis Sharp, of Christchurch.

Southlanders Alex Crosbie, Harry Wilson and Harry McDonald plus local club member James Dicey, of Cromwell, will also be on the grid.

With so many classes and so much action, the programme will cover two full days from 9am on both Saturday and Sunday with testing, qualifying and 30 races across the weekend.

Pre-sale weekend passes are on sale from Auto Centre in Tweed St, Invercargill, and E Hayes & Sons in Invercargill.
