Vehicle: 2001 Toyota Hi Ace 10-seater van

Engine: Diesel, 3.0L

Transmission: Manual

Colour: White

Name: Janice Lee

From: Koha Kai (Charitable Trust)

When and why did you buy it? It was kindly donated to us by hoamz Real Estate Ltd after we explained what we [Koha Kai] do and why it was so important to us to make our programme accessible for people of all abilities

What is the vehicle’s history? It used to be a bright red taxi – it may well have some stories to tell… if anybody would like to share

Have you altered it in any way? Everything has been renewed or reconditioned, and it has had an amazing new paint job, and now proudly wears our logo

What’s it like to drive? Exciting – with great views, no bonnet and a long wheelbase. We have come to know a couple of kerbs better than we did before, and parking is almost always angled

What’s it worth? Priceless to us. Everybody greets it with a smile and it has been christened Homer – after the company which gifted it to us

Where’s your favourite stretch of road or road trip? All around town transporting our volunteers. Every day is a road trip

Top speed? Nana km/h

Best driving experience? The first one – with so many cameras on us – filled with joy and no false starts

Worst driving experience? Hasn’t happened yet

What other vehicles of note have you owned? This is a first for Koha Kai

Best music to drive to? The Best of John Lennon – it’s been playing since October 2016, so we brought it with us to the new ride, since we all know all the words…

Describe your driving style: Memorable. We believe in creating memories, where the conversations are lively, the singing is loud and the laughter is frequent

If you could go for a drive in any vehicle it would be a…? I can’t wait for the driverless (autonomous) cars to become available. Tesla are going for looks and autonomy – a great combination

What was the first car you ever bought? 1960 Morris Minor 1000

Do you belong to any clubs? No, but I’m a long-term fan of Fords and Toyotas – have owned some of each
