When and why did you acquire it? Eleven years ago. Had been looking for another old car as we regretted selling the ’61 Ford Fairlane and a friend was going to sell the ’56. Had a look and decided this was the car for us and bought it

What is the vehicle’s history? Had always been in New Zealand and had been off the road for a number of years. Most parts had been removed. It got a new lease life about 12 years ago

Have you altered it in any way? We have added fuel-injected carburettors, electric-assist steering, radiator, electric fans, trans cooler, heater, vents, central locking, new gauges, fitted seat belts, new centre console and lower dash, motor and trans overhauled

What’s it like to drive? Great car to cruise in

Where’s your favourite stretch of road? We enjoy any road trip

Top speed? 100kmh

Best driving experience? On holiday and just cruising

Worst driving experience? Seeing a motor bike and a car have a head on in front of you
