When and why did you acquire it? About three months ago. More fun and to compete in the biggest class in New Zealand [300] Supersport
What is the bike’s history? It was an on-road bike, now it’s been turned into a race bike
Have you altered it in any way? Added a lap timer, race tyres, race bearings and pink handle grips
What’s it like to ride? Actually really nice, smooth… not near as bad as an old bike [such as a Rudge]. It can go around a corner and not worry. And quiet
Where’s your favourite stretch of road? On-track: Levels in Timaru; off-track: Otatara
Top speed? On-track: 170kmh
Best riding experience? During the Burt Munro Challenge Wyndham races in 2014 when I competed in the sidecar racing and winning the Burt Munro Family Trophy that year
Worst riding experience? When dad [Stephen] ruined my race. I was in the lead when it was red-flagged, and it was dad, and I lost the next race. It was really gutting
What other motorcycles of note have you owned or raced? 1930 Rudge [and sidecar], SV650 Suzuki, Motard RMZ 450
Best music to ride to? The sound of the engine
