When and why did you buy it? I’ve had it for about three months, it was brought as a promotional vehicle for the Great New Zealand Tractor Trek

What is the vehicle’s history? It’s ex-army, but I don’t know where it’s done service

Have you altered it in any way? No

What’s it like to ride? Surprisingly comfortable apart from the seats. It does 5km per litre of diesel

What’s it worth? It owes me about $45,000, but it could be worth about $80,000 or more

Where’s your favourite stretch of road? 90 Mile Beach because there’s no other cars – it’s wide, smooth, long and you can try out full speed

Top speed? About 100kmh

Best driving experience? Towing a Word War 2 Jeep down from Auckland

Worst driving experience? When you pull over and people still don’t pass you

Best music to drive to? Suzanne Prentice

Describe your driving style: Law-abiding and considerate

If you could go for a drive in any vehicle it would be a… XJ8 Jaguar

What was the first car you ever bought? A 1936 Ford Model Y

Do you belong to any motoring clubs? I used to belong to the Harley-Davidson Club in Auckland, but these days I do my own thing
