When were the Puddle Jumpers first at the festival? They’ve been part of the festival for at least 10 years

Why were they introduced to the festival? I imagine the festival director at the time would have been looking for unique, fun activities and the Puddle Jumpers are just that. These are great because being winter time, children and young people are able to get out on the water without actually getting IN the water

How popular are they? They’ve become a festival favourite and people are keen to queue up to ensure they get a goHow many people can each one fit/ or are they all one size (any doubles?)? Most are for one child, although two people can fit in to some of the bigger boats – usually a younger child with their older sibling

Do people have to be a certain age to use one? Generally children over 6 years, although this can differ from family to family as some children are taller/more mature for their age. Ultimately it requires parental consent, in addition to our staff supervision at all times for health and safety

What are they like to use or what do people most enjoy about the puddle jumpers? It’s fun to float in the boats and experience a sense of weightlessness. Some just like to get out there and race their friends. It’s unlikely that anyone would have a Puddle Jumper at home, so we know children look forward to using them that special time once a year at ILT Kidzone

Your best experience at ILT Kidzone? I love seeing such creativity among the children. They really do make some incredible things in which they’ve given a lot of thought

Your worst experience at ILT Kidzone? The end of the day is difficult for some children as they never want the fun to end. Thankfully we run for six days so if you can’t get through everything in the one day, you can return for more fun the next

What other transportation is there at Kidzone? The Macaulay Mazda Wheelzone is full of wheely good things including the Zorbs (also travel on water), Green Machines, Mini Jeeps and the Bikes 4 Fun, which will certainly test your skill. We’ve also got Wee Wheels as part of Tiny Town, which is great for the little ones

Best music at ILT Kidzone? Join us this year in the all-new Jamaican Rhythm & Dance room to move your body, Jamaican style. There’s also plenty of music through our live performances on offer each day and great tunes pumping live from the Radio Kidzone caravan

When was the first Kidzone festival and how has it grown over the years to what it is today? ILT Kidzone is now in its 14th year and has grown from four festival days to six, with more than 150 activities on offer
