TAMA Arthur, 11, a Year 7 pupil at the school was nominated by his mother, Sharne, to win the MoreFM competition of a helicopter ride to school.

Tama’s grandfather Doug Arthur said although Tama had been diagnosed with health issues, he had an amazing, positive attitude.

“It hasn’t held him back, and he is always smiling.”

The MoreFm crew collected Tama from his home on Tuesday and chauffeured him to the airport.

The helicopter ride included a lap round Invercargill before dropping on to the high school’s sports grounds next to the school at 8.30am in time for school.

Mr Arthur said Tama was thrilled and was “so excited” to win, saying how “super cool” it was.
