Bagging a meal

INVERCARGILL Meals on Wheels committee president Valerie Jones (right) and treasurer Gwen Bradley were delighted to receive new food carriers.

The group received 16 bags – eight forĀ  large-sized and eight for small meals.

About 50 volunteer drivers would use the bags to deliver food to members of the community.

Feedback from patrons had been good, Mrs Jones said.

“Some have noticed the new bags and are delighted with them.”

The bags were made in Christchurch and cost about $1800.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer driver or a committee member for Meals on Wheels, could phone Mrs Jones on 03 2176105.
