THE Rotary club donated $10,000 to the Cancer Society from the proceeds from the Rotary Book Sale earlier this year.
“We don’t get any government funding, so every dollar we spend in Otago Southland we have to raise in Otago Southland,” Ms Hart said.
“So we were really honoured to have been chosen as the charity partner for the Rotary Book Sale this year.”
The funds would be used to help the Cancer Society deliver its services in Southland, she said.
Last year, the charity supported 466 people directly affected by cancer through individualised support, before and after treatment, ran more than 100 programmes and support groups and provided prosthetic services to women, she said.Asics footwearNike sneakers
