Healthy living focus for preschool

TODDLERS at Windsor Montessori Preschool were last week presented with a their bronze ‘Rito’ Healthy Heart Award from the Heart Foundation in recognition of its efforts towards creating a heart-healthy environment. Among the tots were Rata Xiao (left, 3) and Mae Guyton (4), while head teacher and owner Cynthia Copeland (middle) said she and her team were proud to receive the award. “Our aim from the start was to inspire and develop a culture and love of food in our children to help give them the ability and confidence to make informed choices about their eating habits. ‘‘We also recognise the importance physical movement plays in promoting children’s mental and emotional health as well as their physical wellbeing.’’ The children were given a certificate last Wednesday and named their favourite healthy snack when collecting their stamp and sticker.
