THE South Alive Landlord of the Year Award for 2017 was open to all landlords in the 9812 post code area.

In his nomination, tenant Ray Balloch attested to Moss Wylie’s great sense of responsibility as a landlord, through his immediate attention to any issues which had risen throughout the past 23 years of his tenancy, and the reassurance of his security of tenure at the property for as long as he wanted.

South Alive Housing Action Group convener Margaret Cook said the group was pleased to be able to publicly recognise those less acknowledged “heroes”, landlords who were considerate towards their tenants and ensured that the home they supplied was not only warm and dry, but suited tenants’ needs, thereby embodying the spirit of pride in living in South Invercargill.

“Other nominating tenants also wrote of similar experiences, speaking highly of their landlords as people who were pleasant to work with and obliging when issues arose.”
