Mission Without Borders Southland convener Dawn Wallace shows some of the many knitted slippers and blankets on display at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall in Windsor during the Operation Cover Up celebrations on Friday.
Many volunteers from throughout Invercargill and Southland put in hundreds of hours to create the massive amount of knitted and crocheted garments and blankets which would be sent to Eastern Europe.
Mrs Wallace said this year was a significant anniversary, being Operation Cover Up’s 20th.
The organisation had received “so much more [donations] than expected”, as well as “many more” members of the public visiting the display this year, she said. Photo: Janette Gellatlytrace affiliate linkAir Jordan 1
