THEY may have limited, or no vision, but that does not stop them achieving or having fun.

A group of 11 members from the Blind Foundation are knitting beanies which will be on sale at the Orphans Aid Opshop in Invercargill from tomorrow.

Blind Foundation Invercargill’s recreation and volunteer co-ordinator Ann Robbie suggested the idea, which was embraced by the group.

“They have a great time doing it.

“It’s impressive what they are achieving,” she said.

Blind Foundation members Isabelle Goodare and Helen White are among the knitters.

They knit a small square. Then foundation volunteers stitch the ends and put a small toy on top to create the beanie.

“Everything was donated. They knitted [about] 120 beanies and all the money raised will go to the Blind Foundation.”Running sport mediaMiesten keng├Ąt laajasta valikoimasta
