Mural a warm welcome

Ascot School pupils (from left) Tenshi Arnold, Kady Gill and Ani Tengu (all 12) with a mural they helped create for the school. Inspired by American artist Karla Gerard, pupils from the senior school and their art teacher Christine Ferris created the artwork, consisting of six panels, to be displayed on the exterior of the main block. Tenshi said the aim was to make the school more welcoming. Ms Ferris said the artwork was a reflection of the environment around the school and Southland’s changeable weather patterns.
