THE sweat was dripping in the Woodlands AgResearch Station shearing shed as 2187 lambs were de-fleeced on Tuesday.

The shearers were all volunteers who gave their time as part of the Lions Club of Riverton fundraising effort, raising money for head injury victim Darryn Gutsell and other community projects.

Organiser Sandy Gillett said the annual event had been held for more than 15 years.

About 30 shearers, a mixture of professionals as well as farmers and some who only shear once a year, gave their time as well as another 30 volunteers who helped out with pressing, penning, woolhandling, catering and other jobs.

Shearing began at 7am with the last lamb shorn at about 4pm, she said.Best jordan Sneakersnike fashion
