‘Shed’ a place to work together

A SPECIAL meeting will be held at the Invercargill Working (IWMC) next week to decide whether a “Menz Sheds” will be established in Invercargill.

Sycamore said the goal of the Menz Sheds was to bring men together in one community space to share their skills.

“Sheds around New Zealand take on a variety of community projects in which members of the shed are working together.”

The guest speaker will be Neil McArthur, from the Alexandra Menz Sheds which was established a few years ago.

“Menz Sheds would be a great place for everyone who wants to build something or learn from the others, but also as a place to hang out for a chat,” Rotary Invercargill South member and co-organiser Rob McIntosh said.

“At the meeting, among the other things, a possible location and premises for the shed will be discussed, so all ideas are welcome,” Mr McIntosh said.

The meeting is on Tuesday, April 4, the IWMC Corinthian Convention Centre east lounge at 7pm.
