SOUTHERN Institute of Technology (SIT) Family Xmas at the Arcade, supported by Invercargill City Council, will be held at the SIT Arcade on Saturday.

SIT student and event co-organiser Phoebe Wang said they wanted to give local people a really cool and special Christmas experience.

Some of the activities on offer will be stone painting, a scavenger hunt and a lucky ring toss.

“The most exciting part of our Christmas event is the kid’s Christmas costume design competition, which is open for 15 families. We will give them a pack which has all the materials for costume designing. The family members will work together on a design and judges will choose the winners,” she said.

Families can register until December 8 by emailing 2016009157@student.ac.nz.

There will also be food stalls, arts and crafts, Chinese massage and live music.
