BLUFFIES, and others from throughout the region will gather to celebrate the festive season on Sunday, December 10, when the popular Christmas In The Bluff takes place.
A street parade along Gore St will commence at 1pm before the focus turns to a massive Gala Day at the Bluff Oyster & Food Festival site immediately afterwards.
The Gala Day looks set to be the best yet with activities and entertainment for all ages in a family-friendly, alcohol free venue.
The children’s entertainment will also all be free and no doubt the Santa Grotto will definitely be a favourite. As well as the opportunity to have a free photo taken with Santa, there will also be a special Christmas photo booth for people to take photos with their own cameras and phones.
The variety of children’s entertainment will include mini jeep rides, an Astroball, bouncy castles, facepainting, games and competitions, as well as a jelly eating competition.
While the kids are exhausting themselves having fun, the adults will also have plenty of things to do.
Craft stalls featuring a large variety of quality products, as well raffles and a chocolate wheel are just some of the attractions.
One of the most popular competitions from past years, the Decorated Christmas Tree Competition will also feature.
Fortunately, there is still time for groups to enter by phoning Debbie Fife on 03 212 6800 (work) or via the Christmas In The Bluff Facebook page.
The trees will be displayed at the venue, with public voting for their favourite by gold coin donation. The funds raised will go towards organising future Christmas In The Bluff events, which includes free activities.
As well as all the entertainment and opportunities for Christmas shopping, there will also be plenty of food, coffee and cold drinks available to buy.
There is no entry fee. But do note, there will also be no EFTPOS at the site, so remember to bring cash.
In keeping with the family-friendly theme, the site is also smoke and alcohol free.
