Tour raises more than $3000

Brook Armishaw, of the Invercargill Police team, takes part in the ASB Tour of Don & Deveron in Invercargill last week, which raised funds for St John Invercargill.

SIXTY to 70 riders sweated it out at ASB’s Invercargill offices last week as part of the Tour of Don & Deveron.

ASB put together the Tour of Don & Deveron as a fundraising event for St John Invercargill.

This year’s tour attracted eight teams and they pedalled the stationary bike at the ASB offices to rack up as many kilometres as possible.

Six teams took part last year.

Each of the teams used up to 10 riders and spent a day last week on the bike, starting at 11am and finishing at 5pm.

Cruickshank Pryde was crowned this year’s winner covering 270km in total and pipped the Invercargill Police team by just 2.94km.

Other teams to compete this year were AWS, ASB, Preston Russell, Southern Wide Real Estate, Malloch McLean and Crowe Horwath.

While the final figure was still to be tallied, this year’s event was expected to have raised more than $3000 for St John.Nike sneakersnike fashion
