Migrant Newcomers Hui which was held at the Invercargill City Library last weekend.
Organised by the Invercargill City Council, migrants to the region had the opportunity to share their experiences of moving to Southland.
About 15 people, from a range of cultures and backgrounds, attended the event.
Attendees gathered around three tables and were able to discuss and address questions
which focused on what attracted them to move to the city, what their first impressions were and challenges they may have faced.
Engagement co-ordinator Amelie Schuberth said they hoped to use the information gathered to make strategic activities for newcomers.
