IF you are getting a little stuck for ideas these school holidays, why not head out to The Catlins where there are plenty of short walks for the whole family.
Waipapa Point is about an hour’s drive away and offers expansive views out across Foveaux Strait.
The area is home to a lighthouse which visitors can walk up to and plenty of wildlife heads to the beach there, but make sure to keep a sensible distance from any.
An information point is found at the car park which details the extensive and unique history of the area, including the shipwreck .
The information point has toilets and is wheelchair accessible, as is the track.
