ONE of Jasmine Barnfather’s favourite things to do is read a good book.
She did not have a favourite genre, but confessed not all titles appealed to her.
Ms Barnfather was just one of the people who went to the Invercargill City Library book sale last weekend to find a “good bargain”.
She said the book sales took away her guilt over occasionally buying a book she did not end up enjoying.
“I always try to buy books in sales because you can find really good options for cheap.
“And, also, I can be guilt-free if I decide to abandon a book in the first few pages,” she said with a laugh.
Ms Barnfather believed book sales were really important to encourage people to read.
“Especially with social media. People are getting lazy, so books are a great way to stimulate the imagination.”
