TE ANAU’S inaugural Free Fiordland Community Family Fun Day was so successful last year, another is planned in conjunction with a Te Anau Flower “Pop-Up” Show next Sunday.
Te Anau Flower Show spokeswoman Judy Matthews said they decided to organise the pop-up show after having to cancel the 53rd Te Anau District Autumn Flower Show due to Covid-19 Level 2 restrictions last year.
“The pop-up show entries are free to all who enter and we would love as many people to participate and we will also have displays and demonstrations.”
People could enter photography, handcrafts, floral art, cut flowers/produce, baking, and there would also be a children’s section. Entries needed to be taken to the hall between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, June 26. Photography entries must be dropped off to Laura at Jade Country in the town centre by 5pm on Friday, June 25.
The Fun Day had free activities for all ages, including a climbing wall demonstration and ‘Have A Go’, a fashion parade with Jane Gilder Sewing and Design, Hospice Shop Te Anau and Fiordland Players Steampunk creations, live entertainment, bouncy castles, face painting and a free barbecue and afternoon tea. The Fiordland Vintage Machinery Museum Inc and the Fiordland Community Garden would provide outside displays.
- The family fun day would be held from 12.30pm-4.30pm, Sunday, June 27, at the Fiordland Community Events Centre.
