Southland Otago Axemen were back at The Church on Saturday for an afternoon of Timbersports.
They put on a demonstration of multiple disciplines including underhand chop, standing chop and double handed sawing at The Church, which has hosted the event since 2017.
The men and women put their skills to the test preparing themselves to take part in the National Competition at Blenheim in a few weeks.

Sonia Sturley, of The Church Manapouri, said: “Having the woodchopping crew at The Church is always a highlight on our calendar. It is well received by locals and travellers alike.
“The guys and girls have immense power and strength and they always put on a great demonstration of their abilities.”
