About 500 people turned out to support the Heart Foundation for Women- Jennian Homes Mother’s Day fun run at Thompson’s Bush on Sunday, May 14.

Heart health advocate Nicola Mason welcomed participants before introducing guest speaker and heart attack survivor Sue Garrard, as well as a pre-run warm-up aerobic workout to Twisted Sister’s We’re Not Gonna Take It

Heart disease was the single biggest killer of New Zealand women, claiming the lives of more than 50 mothers, daughters, wives and sisters each week, Ms Mason said.

The Heart Foundation for Women is campaigning to encourage women to take charge of their heart health by eating healthy whole foods, exercising regularly, stopping smoking and, for women over 45, getting their hearts checked regularly by their GP.Nike sneakersAsics Onitsuka Tiger
