Te Anau Library turns 30

Te Anau Library librarian/customer service partner Sherree Simpson (left) and Friends of the Library Committee member Sharen Bradley dress up for the book character tea party as part of the Te Anau Library 30th birthday celebrations last Saturday.

Te Anau Friends of the Library chairwoman Marilyn Hunter said the week-long celebrations were made possible thanks to the ongoing support of the community.

“To have authors such as Holly Ford, Kyle Mewburn and Catherine Taylor come to Te Anau was only possible because of the financial support from the Southland District Council and Te Anau Friends of the Library.”

Te Anau playwright, producer and director Brian Johnston was acknowledged for his time and creativity he put into the Way of the World play with Fiordland College pupils and the Murder Mystery evening, she said.
