Couple wins roof costs back

A WALLACETOWN couple has received an unexpected windfall after winning back the price of their $10,000 roof from Invercargill company Marshall Industries.
Kim Biddle and Angus Malcolm had been living in their Wallacetown home for 28 years when they decided to do some renovations.
‘‘After we finished doing up the inside we looked at getting the roof repainted.
‘‘However it turned out that was going to be a bigger job than we thought so, after shopping around… we decided to go with Marshall Industries,’’ Mr Malcolm said.
That decision paid off when they won the Invercargill roofing, manufacturing, sheetmetal and light engineering company’s first local Colorsteel Roof Shout competition.
Marshall Industries operations manager George Wishart said it was great to give something back to a Southland family.
‘‘We’re a really community-oriented business. The Marshall family has owned and operated us since 1936, so giving back to the community is something that’s really important to us.’’
Making the phone call to the couple last Friday to tell them of their win was a great way to finish the working week, Mr Wishart said.Sports ShoesNike
