The Invercargill City Council’s (ICC) business house/retail space development on Don St is taking shape. ICC finance and corporate services director Dean Johnston said the build was progressing as planned and was expected to be completed by the end of June/early July. The development was estimated to cost between $12 million and $13m. “It is all on budget and all on time.” The fit-out was expected to begin in July with the first tenant moving in September/October. The council had secured four anchor tenants so far – McCulloch and Partners, Cruickshank Pryde, Three Bean Cafe and Craigs Investment Partners. Mr Johnston said the council was working with other businesses to finalise leases and he was confident the business house would be fully tenanted. “It will be filled, but possibly not immediately.”
