THE second stage of the Invercargill Public Library refurbishment project started on Monday.

It involves the adults’ services area and will result in the library’s temporary closure on Sunday and Monday.

A pop-up library was being organised in South Invercargill on Monday.

Stage one, the refurbishment of the information services area which began in early May, has now been completed.

Manager Marianne Foster said there had already been some shuffling of services around the building as part of the first stage of the refurbishment, including a closure, and this second stage would be quite similar in its effects on the building.

Adults’ services had been relocated in the children’s services area, but non-fiction and bibliographies would be moved to the information services area.

Ms Foster said everything would be “up and running in that area” by tomorrow.

Library users had been asked to use the returns slot on the children’s services side of the building during this time.
